Sprite Problem..

I have come across a stumbling block..

I was trying out sprites in the engine but they dont work.
Im 3ds Max, the sprite is fine. I use an aplha channel map to make the black areas transparent. I use it in the opacity slot in the material, along with the diffuse map.

It works fine in Max, but when put in the engine, the black parts of the texture are visible instead of being transparent.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Or how to make sprites for the engine?

Any help would be great!
