Max2map

Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone could guide me in the right direction as to how to use max2map properly. Any links or tutorials around? Im using 3ds Max 5 but i dont think the plugin i have works. It loads fine but doesnt seem to work when i try to export. I get "Module Export Failure".

Im doing everything right, followed the tutorial in the documentation yet it still doesnt work. Its just that the artists here would much prefer to do the interior modeling in 3ds Max. Quark is a little restrictive etc.

So if anyone could point me in the right direction, id greatly appreciate it.

As it stands right now max2map is extremely buggy. It was never intended to be a common tool so much as a quick fix for certain things. in the time it would take to learn how to build your shapes just right so max2map would only throw up all over them only a little, you could learn how to use quark ten times over.

i know the quark can be a little weird, but really, your best bet is to just have your artists learn the tool. it takes a solid couple of days of actually effort, but in the end it will save you a lot of headaches.

Max2map is not a supported tool.

See the DIF Exporter Matrix. You will find that Max2Map does not really support any functionality that would be useful for creating a game.
