textures not showing up on dts models

For some reason when importing a new dts model into tribes2, the textures dont show all i get is a grey shape with no textures, any ideas what is causing this?.

No that didnt do it.

You will have to export it into Tribes 2.
Here's a list of things to check.
Save the 3dsmax file in the shapes dir.
Put the dtsscene.cfg into the shapes dir.
Put the textures into the textures/skin dir.
Open the file in Max and point to the textures in the above path.
Make sure everything is set up correct.
Save the max file before exporting.
Export into the shapes dir.
Now you shoul be able to see the model ingame/editor with the correct textures.
If that dont work I don't know what could be wrong.

The textures have to be in the proper format, too. That might be part of it.

Ok got it now, thanks for your help all, it was the detail in my cfg file set to 250 but the mesh was detail 100, that along with the texture file path parameters,, next step animation, any tips ?.

I would suggest checking out Tim Gift's Torque Exporter tutorial as well as the maX-Files tutorials - they are both in the Resources section. Exporting has been a sore spot but people are beginning to get it now. If you come up with any improvements, please share.Welcome aboard and best of luck!

This will tell the export where the textures are.
And then off cause you'll have to place the textures here as well.
