Exporting issues from Max6

Hi everyone!

I'm a newbie to the Torque engine but i've been working in 3D Studio Max for many years now. The version I'm currently running is 6.

I've constructed a character mesh and forward kinematics bone system inside of Max.

I have successfully been able to export the character mesh to a .dts file and I've been able to successfully export the bone system to a .dts file but I can't export the mesh and bones together. Every export I attempt to make creates a 'No data to export' error message.

I've read through the docs numerous times and reverse engineered the example player mesh provided with the engine but I cant troubleshoot the problem.

For test purposes, I've created a simple mesh and bone model - a cylinder with to FK driven bones. There is a single detail node (with a number that matches the number at the end of the mesh name).

I'm batting my head against a nasty wall here...any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

(I can post a screen shot of my schematic window if it will be helpful)

thanks,
k

How does one get into the private forums without an SDK license?

@Gonzo: By owning a commercial license.

@Katrina: Posting your schematic view would be very helpful, also the dump.dmp file generated by export.

Also, out of curiosity, are you using the Samme Ng version of the Max 6 exporter? (it is the one most widely avaialble, and the one linked from the exporter matrix page.) Or are you using a different version?
