Too much fun!

Don't know if anyone ever really messed with the editor while hosting an online game in the Torque Demo but it's the best lol.

It all started because my buggy flipped over in the racing example. Well for some reason the reset wouldn't work. My buddy was playing too but refused to flip me over. Well, I figured maybe the editor would work so I opened it up, and instantly I was god. I picked the car up and flipped it right side up using the Mission Editor. Great stuff. Of course I had to pay my buddy back for his insulance so I grabbed him up along the Z-Axis and then flung him across the level ... absolute hilarity ... I can't remember the last time I was so tickled by a game.

It gets better though. We proceeded to play the FPS demo. We had about 5 people playing hohohoho ... now that's great. Picking people up by the scruff of their little Orc outfits, dropping the terrain out from beneath their feet OMG ... too much. Then of course there's the strategy of Alt + C and moving the camera to a good location and then pressing F7 to drop directly behind someone trying to snipe from a mountain top. This was also a useful technique for getting ammo real quick.

Anyway, I've always wanted to make a game where hacking was an essential part of the gameplay. This was very close to what I was thinking could be cool and it totally ties into True-Vol 2. In the original the hacking wasn't really hacking but the game gave you the ability to make your own weapons and if you were clever you could have lots of fun. Oh boy it's time to go all out on this idea now though. Hehe ;)

That could be an interesting game play concept. Though it might be hard to keep it fun as everyone zips around in strange ways...

First time we did that(editing a server with players logged in) was in Tribes 1. I have a buddy that was an editor guru. The guy could dream up stuff that boggles the mind. I still have a map called DeathStar that looks like a deathstar in construction. In has one completed track that is so massive you can actually ski around it in 360 degree's vertically. Words cannot describe the experience of making this loop at incredible speeds.

Posi once made an MDM practice map where you could log into his server, he would copy paste your characther into a certain coordinate and it would send your copy through a launch tube and flying back at you and you had to try and pick it out of the air, lol.

It's also a handy way to make ingame footage for movies by being able to do stuff like move buildings or large ships that normally sit still.
