All of AOL banned from the chat?!?!?!?!?!?

Why is all of AOL banned from the chat? I emailed Longwalker about it, but he says he wont remove the ban. I was a regular in there. This sucks. He just banned like 20% of everybody that gets online.
Who is to say that its a member from garage games? From what I understand he has several rooms there that are not garagegames related. Anyway, I suggest using a bigger IRC network like dalnet or undernet.

If someone does start a channel on another server, we can certainly list it along with MGO.Net's

I agree with Tim. Simply banning people because they are from AOL goes beyond my previous argument that we would not get involved in chat arguments. Like Tim said, we will post the link if somebody will set up the channel.Jeff Tunnall GG

I don't see any reson for you to interfere because of a few people being mad...after all the chat is a privilege and not a right.
Also moving the channel to a larger network like dalnet is a bad idea because people spam you all the time with porn.

Banning AOL is no new thing...I've been in comunities before that have had to do it cause its the only way to get rid of immature trolls sometimes. And GG, you have not been in the room when it has been flamed and spammed...its hard to help someone or get help when thats going on One of the trolls, Im not gonna mention names, spoofed his/her IP and basically hacked back into the server and started trolling the #garagegames channel again...Isn't that illegal?Jeff you said in an earlier thread:

Sorry, i have to take back what I said. I now also feel the channel op a bit of abuse their power, and if someone set up a better /more freely channel, just let us know

Those of you that think that, I hope you guys do find a different place so that the real programmers and people who have questions will get on the original channel w/o having to worry about spamming and people abusing others.
6 whole rules is all that is posted.

I find it interesting that people feel that a group that sets up and runs a service for free, owns the server and then enforces those rules feels they are abusing their "power".Those of you that think that, I hope you guys do find a different place so that the real programmers and people who have questions will get on the original channel w/o having to worry about spamming and people abusing others.

I found no problem with those rules. I do know there are rules. When I said "abuse" i mean something over the line. i mean something that are NOT in those rules.
