Hello, i was just wondering if i can download the Tourqe Game Engine, make my game, and then pay for it, and if so how? is the demo the same thing as the sdk without the license? thanks for the help in advance.

The license gives you the source, and rights to sell your product. The demo allows you to only mod/script Torque. You have to pay for the license if you plan on selling anything.

Hey Robert, you can download the demo, learn how to script in it, have alot of fun and then buy the license.

The difference here is that by buying the license you are allowed to release your stuff any way you want (well, almost!), with your name as the author. Otherwise it is just a modification of the TGE Demo and AFAIK you are not allowed to actually release anything based on the downloadable demo.

Alternatives

Download the free Realm Wars and learn you ways around Torque there and offer the Realm Wars crew your help, they would surely love some extra hands in there.

OR

Buy Ken Finneys excellent book called 3D Game Programming All In One. It includes working copys of the TGE engine with tons of examples how to work with scripts, adding art and making cool effects etc. etc.

Anyroad
Well, me thinks that covers some... don't forget to read up on:
the TGE End User License Agreement (EULA)
