Hello there everyone
myself and a friend are flexing our Game Design muscles by creating an RTS game based on the current conflict in iraq.
Firstly we planned to make a mod of the game Warcraft 3 however after we have looked at the engine seen its limitations. Were thinking of switching to an open source engine such as Torque im the 3d modeler and have no problems with any engine accept for of course polygon limitations, its my friend (the programmer) who will have the biggest say.
anyway
1. How good is the torque engine as a RTS engine?
2. I want to be able to switch between 1st person shooter and RTS mode, is this possible?
3. What is the Difference between the demo and the inde version? are there any limitations?
BTW we plan to be non-proffitable or if there is enough interest (hopefully) we plan to get the upgrade and go profitable.

Torque Owner Stefan
I just wanted to say that there has already been a game in development for a long time called Modern Warfare using the Torque engine, so it'd be cool if you could think about changing your name ;) Our website is www.modernwarfare.net, but it is currently under reconstruction.
Anyway, to the answers!
1. Don't know.
2. This should be very easy to implement using the Torque engine.
3. The only difference is that the demo version has no access to the engine source. To make an RTS, you would need access to the source.
