Wow Wow Wow!!!

I've been in 3D game and 3D graphics development since the early '80s. However, I'm currently developing web infrastructure software for Sony, mostly stuff intended for patenting.
Anyway, my last commercial game title was done about three years ago, with my own engine, built on top of the RenderWare technology (basically just using the rendering and object management of RW).
So recently I've been kicking around the concept of doing another title, as an indie on the side, and I was dreading the idea of re-vamping one of my old engines and toolsets, or as an alternative, I was REALLY dreading the idea of developing a new game engine and tools from scratch.
I thought of using RW again, because I DID like the technology, and Criterion USED to have a flat "$1K/$1K/$1K" rate: 1000 per programmer per title per year. That would have been easy enough to do. But now, they negotiate on a per-title basis... yuck! Who wants to deal with that crap? And other 3rd party deals, with any kind of decent technology, tend to be even worse!
So then I accidentally found you guys, here at GG, and it's like a freakin' miracle. I accidentally found you guys because I read about the new Blender export on the Blender3D site.
After a little due-dilligence on your licensing and technologies, (and believe me, i've had to do THAT process like a million times), I figured that $100 was a tiny risk for the potential benefit.
Now, after just a couple of days of working with your system, I realize that I have everything I need as a foundation to work on my new game, and got it for only chump-change. If I need to enhance the engine, I have full source code! Not to mention that your licensing terms are so reasonable that I wonder what it is that I'm reading wrong. I should BE so lucky as to have $250K in revenue to NEED a $395 commercial upgrade.
It's such a pleasure browsing YOUR code, especially when I think of a Disney game that I worked on where I inherited over a million lines of spaghetti code that couldn't do a FRACTION of what your engine is capable of out of the box. It's so well organized and commented, and everything just compiled and worked. How cool is that?
Anyway, I just wanted to say, I'm impressed, amazed, and full of gratitude. Great job guys!
