Site project resources

Folks,
first of all, I've been a member of the Torque community for almost three weeks now, and the quality of people, information and support literally blew me away. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone, and especially to GG crew for creating, nurturing and growing such an outstanding community.

As I was trying to set up a project here on GG, I could not find any way to post documents as a part of the project. I am not talking about screenshots, but things like design docs, code files, etc. The only way to do it (as fas as I could figure out) is to copy/paste the text into .plan, or into a forum thread. While I have no problem doing it, reading and searching long posts and long .plans is somewhat difficult. I was wondering if GG could implement a small file repository where projects can put their documentation. The file limitations can be similar to what is specified right now for graphics files (>100K, for example). Any thoughts, comments on pros and cons of doing it?

Thanks, P.Z.

I think that that aspect of the GG site is alright right now. However, I believe that the My Garage section could be organized into fewer, more general catagories.

I would suggest that if you are looking to have a commercial product of some sort, you may want to do this type of thing internally. Project descriptions here are really nice for general overview of what your project is about, but it's not really designed (nor should it be used for, IMO) your "project repository".

Of course, if you are working on a completely "open" project where anyone can comment/participate, it's fine to leave your details open to the public, but then again, GG isn't really designed as a project repository site...that's why Realm Wars, even though an "open project", has their own web page for design and team coordination.

Just my $.02!

GarageGames is not a "Project Hosting" service, so you would need your own webspace to post your documents, plans, code files, etc. on.
