IGC'04 - what will YOU bring?

by Gregory Micek · in General Discussion · 06/11/2004 (7:03 pm) · 47 replies

I'm just a little curious who is planning on bring which games to the show. It's a few months out and I'm getting pretty excited. I'm really interested to hear about what games people are planning on showing off. If your game is hush-hush until then please feel free to drop me a line at gmicek@diygames.com and it will be kept in confidence until you give the thumbs up (NDA's are fine, of course).

Thanks!

I've been trying to re-engineer my truck to run on beer, but it just seems wrong to deprive the world of game developer fuel

Beer huh? So is it now powered by 4 booze hungry interns encaged in a giant hampster wheel?

Beer Driven Development instead of Test Driven Development. Wins hands down... everytime.

There's gonna be booth babes? Women and Torque? How can I *not* pass that up. I need a screenshot first though before I commit.

No, it's powered by less than sober licensees pushing it ;)

I plan on bringing myself, and whatever Adrian and Logan tell me we're bringing :)

Do we have to supply our own booth babes?

hmmm, I wonder if Jennifer Garner is available...

There will be a booth babe tax; to wit, for every booth babe you bring, you have to bring one for GG, too.

We will have a huge, uberbooth full of babes. It will be awe inspiring.

Ok.. I'll book Jennifer Garner for me, and Kate Beckinsale for GG.

Sound fair?

I think that would be acceptable. Also, bring a game for them to pimp - otherwise it's just not as fun. Bonus points if they actually play the game.

** thankful his wife doesn't read these forums! **

Hmm... maybe we should not just include studio, but game you're working on... on the IGC badges...

That's a great idea Jay.

I know that I'm now constantly introduced as the "Orbz Guy" and it definately helps people to connect with who you are.

I don't think that you will have badges that are big enough to handle all the work that some teams (or individuals) are doing. Though it would be cool to see.

One thing that occurred last year was a number of people writing their IRC nicks on their badge.

I'll probably bring some Adagio mini-CDs, in case anyone wants a copy.

I'd like to be able to showcase Giant Robot Monster, but at this point I have no clue when I'll be getting back to working on it.

Or, really, have no clue yet if I am going to be able to go at at all. :) I'd like to, but work ultimately determines my ability to take vacations.

I'm hopefully bringing a demo of my game Epic Frontiers, maybe a sample app for my AE(artificial emotion) stuff, and of course, money for beer ;)

Jay, maybe you could just include a line in the online registration form that lets us fill in whatever "alias" we would like included on our tags. That way people could choose the information to be displayed (project, IRC handle, etc).

If there is enough room on the tag you could also just have 2 fields on the registration form for "Current Project" and "Handle"...

Just a thought...

I'll be bringing Void War, which will have been released by then.

Good idea, that's how a lot of SF/anime cons do it. They have your main name, then under that an alias/online handle/etc.

And, not a beer drinker here, but I'll provide money for the more serious stuff. :)

Just curious if registration is still due to open up this week...?

Edit: never mind. Registration is live. Thanks!
