Animation Sequence Resources

Does anyone know where I can find some resources on the net for character animations? What I really want are keyframe snapshot sequences of people running, walking, etc to use as a base for my animations.

This book is indespensible.Animator's Survival Kit . Well worth the price if your planning on doing your own animations.
If your looking for canned animation sequences try life forms . They have free mocaps on their site for download and game content packages for sale. It's been a long time and might require an intermediate software but I think remebering importing their BVH files into milkshape.

Depending on what route you want to take, you can use gameSpace to create your character and import sequences from a product called TrueBones: http://www.truebones.com The $69.00 CD they sell has over 240 pre-canned sequences that work with TrueSpace but I'm told they will work with gS as well.
I'm leaning towards this method as I'm fed up with trying to get good results with MilkShape and CharacterFX... (good programs, I'm lousy at animation)

Muybridge's books are the best resource I have ever found for photographs of actual people and animals. There's a disney animation book that has decent cartoon walk sequences. I haven't found an anime one, but if you download the free program VirtualDub you can take an animated video, isolate a sequence you like, and export the frames that make up that sequence, conveniently auto-numbered.

Thanks, everyone, for your help and advice! I think, for the time being, I will take the cheapest route and try out VirtualDub. I had actually been fairly successful on only my second attempt at creating a run animation, but just wanted a realistic reference to clean it up a bit.
