Why can't I use AmericanExpress to purchase V12?

I think this has to be a serious oversight. Practicaly very mom and pop shop on the net accepts this card.

It is not an oversight. Most people have VISA/MC. We do not intend to accept AMX any time soon.

This brings up the question as to how people will be able to pay for our games when they're published by gg.com. Will only visa be accepted? It would be nice to cater to both major companies...

VISA/MS is sufficient.

It does cost money to handle each card, and for the number of people with American Express GG probably judged that it's not worth the expense.

Just a thought, but you do realize that lots of kids, not just adults, will be wanting to buy games here? It might not seem worth the expense to include other methods of payment, but you might want to rethink that.

Also remember that even adults sometimes do not wish to use credit card information on the internet. That's just a fact of life.

I would suggest incorporate at the VERY least, some way to mail a check or money order, and obtain your copy that way. PayPal is also not a bad idea.

I almost didn't buy the engine, because my CC (discover) was not accepted and there was no apparent way to mail payment. I had money in PayPal but couldn't use that either.

My 2 cents.

An old topic, but still relevant. I agree, at least on the PayPal/Snail mail remarks. Not everyone is so trusting of the net, can't say I blame them either.

I wouldn't mind a few more ways for people to purchase my finished product

Maybe if GG came up with a way for us to sell through our sites while they track the sales...we can handle money order and check order and paypal and then divide the royalties. but i know they'll say it's too much work and people may not be honest. this a good subject; i hadn't thought of that scenario.

Let's get some games first. It seems to me that people worry so much about the little stuff, that they forget they need to make a good game, then people will want to buy it. If the game is great, people will figure out a way to buy it.

Right now, GG is the only company in this community that should be worried about what type of payments we accept, since we are the only ones with a product to sell.

That's something I'm looking forward to doing, 'cept atm I can't buy the license 'cause I don't have access to visa/mc :-(

c'est la vie, guess I'll just have to wait
