Montreal Indies, what about meeting up ?

I would love to start an indie monthly or bimonthly meeting here in Montreal, not only for those in the greater Montreal area, but also an open invite to indies anywhere in Quebec, as well as the Ottawa region.
This would not happen during IGDA meetings, nor would it be on the same dates, to allow those who might want to attend both to do so.
I'm seeing something quite informal for the time being, the idea being to network among us, foster collaboration which would have to advantage to include the possibility of working and meeting face to face.
Anyhow, let's start discussing it.
Btw, even though I'm French speaking first, I have absolutely no clue as to where the French gaming scene is at.
I would appreciate any recommendations as far as French (based anywhere, but using french ;)) gaming sites are concerned, modding communities, etc.
As far as the Montreal Indies Meeting goes, I see it happening in a cafe or bistro, depending on how many of us there would be.
It's too early to talk of a date, let's try to have a few attendees first :)

Hmmm, on utilise bistro pour dire qu'on peut aussi y manger un vrai repas, et l'alcool y est servi, alors que la plupart des caf

I haven't been following the GG forums much these past months but it definately would be interesting idea. I assume the meetings would be held somewhere on montreal. Not a problem for me as i am from Laval.
