My lod doesn't work ingame

Hi
i want to make a car with level of detail
i can see the level of detail in de model viewer, but not ingame
ingame only the shadow changes if i watch my "car" from a distance
i've uploaded my max5 file

What i want to is that the point where i want has change to next detail.

I think in max auto LoD is meaning less. i tested with Tree that one made detail 800,600,256,64. the other is 256,128,64,2. put those two on engine then zoom out to test Auto Lod. I found a distance it change to next detail that mean the number meaning less just how many level have meaning. have to ask my programmer how to....for maual LoD.What i want to is that the point where i want has change to next detail.

I've followed a few tutorials to the T and get the same strange results. I've downloaded other people's working DTS shapes and thier LODs work just fine. I can't figure this one out. Anyone following this thread get anywhere?

I'm having the same problem, but with manual LOD (not using multires or Auto-LOD) with my LODs not changing unless I'm very very zoomed out. In showtool, the size will say "35.986" but it will still look at the detail128, not the detail64 or detail2. now i fine why. Actually it still worked in auto detail but the tree object was big more than 4 meter . i made 4level of detail (256, 128,64,2) for tree object and when i zoom out extremely (i guess 100merter in game)then it convert to next level 128. easily I can see the auto level of detail at front or side view in show tool not perspective view.
so now i guess LOD in Toque is not base on object pixcel size, but base on something(guess object size)
now i m so tired,tommorrow i will try to 2 test. one is making tree size less than 2 meter in max and than scale out in game, the other make shallow the level like (512 , 480, 450 250) some thing like.
