Is there any interest in a Step-By-Step Texture Tutorial?

I really would like to contribute something back to this community that really gets me going sometimes.
My primary speciality is Two Dimensional Art but I've also been known to be handy with modelling. :)
I answer quite a few questions via email for a few people here on certain topics, but I would really like to make a easy to follow resource for the community in whole.
For my first resource I was thinking of doing a Fullproof guide to great texturing, step-by-step. Texturing is surprisingly simple and with a few readily available tools you wouldn't think of you can make great looking and realistic looking textures without costly texture generating programs (although to contradict that I use photoshop which is rather expensive and a digital camera, but the latter isn't always needed).
I was thinking of doing a step by step (with files included) of how to make this texture: www.subreal.net/aeon/
In that mock-up site the backgroup is actually a 1024x1024 high-res texture made from scratch, but I figured it'd make a nice backdrop for that site so I shrunk it to 1000x1000 and built web elements on it. :)
But anyhow, I was thinking a step by step on how I made that texture and covering the key concepts how I made it.
Would anyone be interested in that? I want make sure I make a resource people can actually USE before I put the time into it, otherwise I'll put it into something else. :)
I see tons of great code around here, but good art resources are quite sparse. Let me know and I'll do it up if you guys want.
(For reference, It took about 5 minutes to make that texture, not counting the time it took to take a few pictures)

That texture is very beautiful! I would really like to see a tutorial explaining how to make stuff like that!

Count me in for that. That's a great texture.

I'm a texture artist myself, and I think that's a cool texture too.

Gimme a day or two to get it together. Gonna be super busy today & tommorrow.

Ok, I'll see what I can do. I'm not the best writer in the world but I'll take some screenshots and include the original files and what not and go step by step on how I made it I guess. Quite easy actually. :)Gimme a day or two to get it together. Gonna be super busy today & tommorrow.

I'd be very insterested in more generalized "How to make textures" tutorials than a "How to make this texture".

The "How to make this texture" is merely just an example I'd use to show those concepts.
Guess since I posted about it I have to do this now. Promise as soon as I get a free moment I'll put it together. :)

Well when I sit down to make this (soon) you will see the concepts that can be applied to everything. :)The "How to make this texture" is merely just an example I'd use to show those concepts.

I agree, we do need to see more tutorials and help for artists around here. I would love to see a good texture tutorial. The image on your site is really great quality. I look forward to the tutorial, Timothy.edit for spelling

Perhaps as a future sequel tutorial you could do something covering repeating textures? I'd be very interested in that as well.

I'm a horrible tech writer and a bad teacher, so I'll try to go back and revamp it somewhat over this week so make it easier to understand. :)
GOOD LUCK Heh. :)

Ok, I was finally able to sit down for an hour and write up as best I could how I did this, I tried to convey the concepts behind it as well as this method can be applied to all kinds of textures, not just this particular one. I included a link to a tag along zip with all the files needed to recreate and the final versions in photoshop & jpg format.I'm a horrible tech writer and a bad teacher, so I'll try to go back and revamp it somewhat over this week so make it easier to understand. :)
