Carrara 3D Basics?

I was looking it up, its a relatively low cost 3D software for Mac OSX and is able to export to 3D Studio format... I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience or success with this program in Torque. I know that OSX is lacking in a 3D program and interior level editor and saw it and thought it might work out.
Any insight?
