How well does Max2Map work?

I have a copy of both 3DSMax and Milkshape, and since I'm planning on buying the Torque SDK tomorrow, I was wondering how well the Max2Map exporter works with Torque? Is it possible to build something like a building and use it in the game world?

Or do you recommend just using Quark for the whole job?

For me using Milkshape or 3D Studio would make my life a bit easier, I'm much better at using 3d modeling programs then level buildings. But if I have to use Quark, I guess I'll use Quark, heh.

Beware that even if you use Max, you still have to use only convex shapes, and everything still has to make it through Map2Dif alive. So the advantage of using a full-blown 3D modeling/animation program like Max over a dedicated CSG builder like Quark is questionable.

Not using concave shapes is relatively easy, from my experiance. But, what the hell, when I get the SDK I give them all a try.
