I think some downloadable game creators could take a cue from demo-makers. I'm not an expert in the field by a long shot, but from what I know small download size has a positive impact on how often web-distributed games get downloaded, and on their conversion rate.

If the above points are correct, then downloadable game developers might do well to put effort into procedurally generating some content, a la the demo scene.

Of course, I'm not saying it'd be possible or smart to make a game < 1MB, but it seems smaller is better, so long as art quality isn't sacrificed.

However, if a game is VERY small - people will immediatly think it's "crap" because size equals quality in many eyes, which makes screenshots a very important thing.

Without the screenies for Kkrieger, I wouldn't have downloaded it.

A Geforce 4 is ps 1.3 compatible - not 1.4 though.
