Exporting bone models from Max or Milkshape

Are there any docs or does anyone have any information on how I should setup my meshes in max for export to V12? I want to make it so all my player models can use the same animations via bones. But I can't seem to find any resources on how to setup characters with bones and then how to export them.

All I have been able to find is info on just simple animations.

yeah I would be very interested to see if anyone has used the SDK to build a V12 exporter for Milkshape, if they have could it be made public or purchased?

There are several older threads dealing with MilkShape, including references to a beta V12 exporter for MilkShape.

On the max bone side... you may want to try the following tutorial. It talks about how to name the bones so that they are compatible with the exisiting animations sequences.
