Just wanted to say Howdy!

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. I have had the SDK for a couple of weeks now and I have been lurking around the forums and trying to get up to speed, so I figured it was about time to "get honest". :-)

I also want to say...Major cudos to the GG guys! Torque is a great engine and has great community. I am happy to be a part of it.

Quick personal thanks to Melv, Ben G, John V just to name a few
of the guys that have posted tuts or advice that have helped me
getting started developing with Torque.

Fair warning! I expect that I will have plenty of goofy questions that I will be asking sooner or later. I hope you can tolerate it. I will try to make them intelligent. :)

Thanks,

Ed

Welcome :D

I hope you don't ever feel embarassed about asking questions. As long as you try to make sure they haven't been asked and answered before, they're great help to others.

Welcome to the club Ed. If you search around a bit and can't find the answer to a question, feel free to ask. Like the old saying says "The only stupid question is the one you don't ask."

Thanks John! I appreciate that. I have been wanting to get into
game development for a long time. A good friend of mine and I have finally decided to embark on this quest. He's the artist ( he does work for WOC and such, so he's good ). I need to get my programming skills up to his level of art and we should be a good team. :-)

I really believe that with the help of GG, Torque and skilled folks like yourself I can make that happen.

I really like the resources that you have been submitting, especially the minApp series. It has really helped me to shorten the learning curve a bit. Thanks!!

Consider yourself lucky that you have an artist. My game is suffering badly from the lack of a basic 2d artist :( I remember a time when artists where everywhere and it was programmers that were hard to find. Seems to be the otherway around these days.
