Silly Question/Bug

Well I compiled the realm wars source off the CVS (just cvs/realmwars) with nothing added to it but the mySQL source. I followed the directions to the mySQL source and it compiled just fine. In the example dir, the RealmWars_DEBUG.exe is there just as it should be. BUT, when I run it, all that shows up in the window is a graphical jumble. I didn't touch anything except what I needed to to add mySQL. Any ideas?
