I didn't know where to post this so i'll put it here.
Trying to design games is a hard thing to do, and it's even harder to get your skill critiqued. I've opened up some forums on the winter-wind games site for people to submit art, ideas, code, and writing to be critiqued.
I'm just testing this idea out. I'm sure it'll grow and mature as anything does. Either that or no one will use it and I'll take it down. No harm in trying.
I know I would love to have my writing looked over.
Anyway, here's the url

Well avoiding things because it might, or can, have a negative consequence really isn't a valid excuse for not implementing it. Non-constructive criticisms are all to easy to avoid. People have a tendency to see anything that doesn't agree with their ideology or reinforce their opinions, as a personal attack. There really are alot of people in this site alone that only want to hear "good things", so they aren't actually looking for criticism and truth.
I personally like criticism of all kind. "Randall, your work sucks" works just fine for me. Great, lets discuss this a little more and discover why you hold this opinion, which isn't actually an opinion at all, its a blanket statement. If you are able to discuss why my work sucks, and give valid arguments, its definately worth my while to investigate how I can make my work better. Otherwise, that pseudo-opinion is simply ignored because it holds no redeeming value.
Most of my work is held on public forums, and people are able to actively and publicly critique it. "You are your own toughest critic" simply isn't true.
