"Welcome to The Garage"

"Welocome to The Garage" is the article in April's Computer Games magazine. Just wanted to know if anyone read this yet? Not bad article about GG.

Quote: GarageGames is a home for anyone who wants to make a game, and actually see it published.

Page 34 of April's issue talks about GG and the Torque engine. My favorite part(pg. 36) is the mention of " The Torque Discovery Kit". Is this going to be 2.0 or is it going to be part of Torque docs or of something else? No mention of the release of TSE or TNL in the article. Can't wait to see what is coming this summer:)

TSE = Torque Shader Engine, TNL = Torque Network Library

Mark, thanks for the post. The article is at the office, and yeah it's a pretty good write up. Everybody should go read it. :) At the time the article was written, TSE and TNL weren't being talked about, so that's why they're not in there.

Donny, the TSE has caused alot of stir around here. I am not the best to answer these questions but:
Both the TSE and the TNL will be stand-alone products to start with. The TSE is basically the 1.2.1 version engine code with Shaders built in to the graphic-rendering-code.
Maybe the TSE will eventually replace the $100 torque license later on (when its ready) but nothing has been actually said in that matter.

The TNL is the network-part ripped out of Torque for other game engines to use so basically every torque owner already have it.

Thanks alot, for the answers to the midnight questions. From what I gather the TSE is in the final stages of developing? another 6 months...

TNL that's farily good.

Well I am off. Thansk alot again.
