Introduction & Concepts

Hi everyone,
I'd thought I would introduce myself.
My name is Chris and I've been programming since I was 9 and developing proper games since 2000.
I've been recently converted to using C++ instead of Visual Basic - it's too slooow.
I'm currently working on a secret project of a classic game conversion into 3D with OpenGL.
I'm studing a BSc in Software Engineering at Portsmouth University (UK). I'm in my 1st year now - lots of boring theory and very little programming at the moment.
I intend to go 'indie' in the summer and start a brand new project by myself (or with one other person).
I'm thinking about game concepts now. Here are a few at the moment:
Bowling
A cartoon styled, over the top Bowling game.
Colourful characters, power-ups, in/proper physics.
Racing
A 'Mario Kart' style game but with realistic cars/monster trucks/motor bikes and unrealistic funny characters.
Power-ups a-plenty in this one!
Puzzle game
Not too sure about this one at the moment.
I love action puzzle games, but finding an original concept is difficult.
Action beat-em-up
I'm gonna keep this one secret - it's kind of a unique idea. *hush* *hush* :D
Any comments would be much appreciated.
Chris.

No one can really comment upon any of those concepts you posted. Basically, each of your concepts was just the genre (typed twice in some cases) plus the style of art. Two of them were basically just "No Information Here".
If you want someone to comment on a game concept, make a new thread for ONE game concept. Describe your concept far more than you did in this thread. Tell us what makes your game different.
It's just that you asked for comments (presumably about the game concepts) and didn't give us anything to comment upon.
