What is the cheapest way to get ahold of the latest version of 3DS Max 4, do you need to go through the company or is anyone out there selling it for cheaper? Or are there any other free alternatives?

    Well since it is not legal to sell a used copy of 3d studio max, theres is really only one way left and that is to buy it from descreet*. It cost around 3000USD.

    Maybe look into other options first.
    By this I mean cheaper programs like Milkshape, etc...

    Btw don't use a Warez version of 3dmax if you intent to publish your work at a later date. Discreet* checks these thing and they will sue you without a question.

    So if you plan on making money with the work you get out of 3dsm then buy it.
