Thank You, Garage Games, for a great new license!

by Davis Ray Sickmon, Jr · in General Discussion · 03/15/2004 (2:50 pm) · 17 replies

I just wanted to say a huge "Thank You!" to the entire Garage Games crew for the new license terms. This lowers the overhead that Indies have to worry about when it comes to developing a game and the options of publishing just broadened considerably by removing more barriers.

Thanks guys - it's truely appreciated!

(Anyone who agrees with me - here's a great fluff post to step up and give 'em a warm fuzzy feeling for all they have done! :-)

Yeah, i'm sorry if people misconstrued my intentions in my post. Overall I think this is a great change to the license.

I'll never ever ask for clarification on anything again if I know whats good for me! :p

Ain't seen nothing yet? What? Rubs my eyes.

Seriously I like the new EULA better than the old one.

WOW.

I hadn't read Jeff's .plan before seeing this, and got very confused. This is excellent news. I was wondering how this would work... your little indie game gets picked up by a mid-tier publisher and suddenly you owe GG $10 grand before doing any further development. Now it's a fairly inexpensive upgrade path.

That is AWESOME news.

Now I want to see some of these little indie studios making so much money per year on their own that they have to make the upgrade! I know *I* wouldn't be complaining...

This is just amazing. You guys are really serious about doing this for the good of the independant game development community. This is just incredibly generous.

Sincere thanks,
Joel

Wow, this is truly excellent... Almost makes me suspicious, except that I've met the GG folks at IndieCon last year, and damn, they ARE very nice and truly want folks to make games with torque!

Many Many thanks!!! and where do I send and what kind of beer do y'all want?

I'm waiting very patiently to see what else Rick O. is refering to with "You ain't seen nothin' yet". The mind boggles at what other cool and wonderful things they are up to! :-)

Do real men get misty eyed at things (other than an ice cold beer on a hot summer day)? *Sniff*
