View Skin over DTS file?

by Master TMO · in Artist Corner · 03/14/2004 (3:06 pm) · 4 replies

Hi all. I'm trying to create my own skins for the tanks in ThinkTanks, and want to be able to look at the skin on the frame from all angles to make sure I have the edges correct. I have not been able to find any programs so far that will read and display a DTS file for this purpose. I don't need to be able to modify the DTS file at all, just view it with a skin, and the ability to view it from different angles.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric / Master TMO

There is a show tool that comes with Torque. This would work admirably for your purpose.

Please keep Torque-related questions in the Torque forums.

Thanks, and sorry if this is the wrong forum. 3D Modelling seemed the best match for the question.

The Torque areas would have been better. ;)

No worries, though. I'm a bit snippy of late because it seems like there's been a rise in posts to the wrong-area. Just spend an extra fifteen seconds looking over the list of forums areas and you should be fine. :)

Ahhh, but you're assuming that I knew Torque was the only tool that would view a DTS file. ;) I did not know that until just now. I was hoping to find one of those free third-party products that could view it. Didn't know it was a single-system proprietary file format.

Sorry, not meaning to add to your forum frustrations. I shall post any further questions in the Torque area.

Ta-ta, and thanks again for the help.
