What do I need to know to work with Torque?

I know 3DSMAX and I can write stories and come up with game design ideas. Coding on the other hand? With the exception of some JavaScript fiddling that I no longer even remember, that's pretty much a weak spot for me.
How much coding do I need to know to work solo with Torque? How easy is it to learn?
Any advice will be appreciated... Thanks!

Your best bet might be to team up with other people. Put up some snapshots to show off what you can do with MAX. See if you can find ppl to join. Unless your MAX skills are super amazing you might find it hard to get people to work on your game project so you might think about joining someone elses game project to up your skills.
Good luck.

Yes - let us not mince words. An amatuer coder is not up to using Torque to make a game...either scripting or C++. It is a large codebase and it solves very a very complicated problem. Even for intermediate experienced coders the learning curve can be steep.Your best bet might be to team up with other people. Put up some snapshots to show off what you can do with MAX. An amateur coder won't be able to make a game with Torque, but you can always learn how to program - take a class or something.
You don't have to be a coder to help make games though.
But unless your a programmer, artist, musician, game designer, writer, level designer, and a tester, you'll need some help making a game. Even if you are all those things, making a game yourself would take a LONG time.
So, yes, find a team.
From your profile, I think you should look for level designer and writer jobs, which sounds like what you want anyways. If you want to do something else, you'll have to acquire the necessary skills.

With a full time job I wouldn't have the time to learn how to code AND do the rest of the things needed for making a game. So joining a team is probably what I need to do. I'll take it slow until I'll find a team that I want to join and that wants me to join them.
Thanks for the tips, guys!

Yeah, doing it all by myself would be silly. Even for my 3D animations I get people to do the soundtrack (though I do the writing, modeling, animation, texturing, design, editing and so on). With a full time job I wouldn't have the time to learn how to code AND do the rest of the things needed for making a game. If you're talking about the hole package like Scripting, Engine Coding etc. then I would say you need alot of time to learn everything. But it's worth the effort :)
