I've been discissing this animation for ages in the ThinkTanks place. It's pretty cool! Presenting:

It is. But I didn't make it myself though. You can get it from www.ezupa.com/misc.

These animations are actually quite simple to create Ken!

I used a program called "XARA" to make a simple bouncing smiley face. :: )(you could probably use jasc PaintShop Pro You just have to create a few frames, compile and save in .gif format. .gif is a weird format though.

It's a copyrighted format that uses compression technology and requires a license for commercial use(similar to MP3 format). Don't worry the company (Unisys) won't go after little fish like us!

I understand that the animation behavior of .gif was discovered by accident! Just sort of a fluke and quirk of .gif format. Now, you see these cute or sometimes annoying animations all over the web. :: )

Anyway, thanks for the link and have fun with the little .gif critters.

It's also for Windows too.

I don't know Bob. I found the program on a shareware disc. At the time, it was Window's only and owned by Corel.

Now, ownership has changed, and maybe they support OS X. Try a websearch for the program.

@Ken, the old version of XARA for Windows is still floating around somewhere. It's a handy-dandy program for those interested in 3D. I didn't experiment with it too much, but it had a decent interface with the usual features.
