3d Max UVW UNWRAP Modifier?!?!?!? not working

so yeah I was having fun mapping my modle thought it would come out nice then then when I loaded it bamb it was all messed up?!?!! can the exporter not handle the uvw unwrap?!?! if not what should i use the normal uvw?!?!?! pleaze help

well it didn't work for me collasped it a couple ways ever exported as a 3ds and reimported and still nothing? is the uvw map working for you?

Based on previous work that I have done exporting RT3D models to other non-max formats for games and software projects, I have found that most exporters only export the first map channels UVW co-ordinates and ignore the rest. This is what usually causes UVW texture coordinates not to properly export with your model.
Let me know if that fixes it.

Anthony, the first thing that comes from the top of my head is "does the format that you are exporting to support more than 1 map channel and are you using multiple map channels to texture your model?"Based on previous work that I have done exporting RT3D models to other non-max formats for games and software projects, I have found that most exporters only export the first map channels UVW co-ordinates and ignore the rest. I dunno about the format . . .it is the dts, dtq formats that the exporter exports to for the Torque engine. I'm not sure abut the map channels. . .the new uwv unwrap I "thought" was different in that you select certain faces and alter them acording ontop of image. . it is a new feature to MAX and that is why I thought the exporter doesn't support it, cause even if one map channel worked their would be at least one level of the mapping that would be fit right. Unfortunetly the maps are all stretched wrong. I had all the mapping on one channel which works for max I just took away all but one and still the exporter won't read the UVW UNWRAP modifier if some one could update the exporter it would be nice I just don't know how.Anthony

I doubt the problem is with the exporter though.

It's tough to guess what your problem is then without actually looking at the file that you are working on. Zip up the file and send it to me. I will try to take a look at it when I get a chance here at work and if I can spot the problem I will let you know.I doubt the problem is with the exporter though.

Just slap one more edit mesh if it's not the last one, and collapse it.
