Also the X Y Z thing. When i tug the handles nothing happens, and if i manually set the values: eg -5.56663 18.9701 499.501
if i change the 499 even to something like 498 it disappears
:(

Janet to try to move things up and down click on the object and hold CTRL and then move your mouse. Hold ALT to rotate stuff and use the X and Z handles to move side ways.

You can't add surfaces to object in the ingame editor. You have to build new 'interiors' in QuArK.
The ingame editor gives you options to rearrange what you already have and make new combinations thereof.
You've probably already seen some of the creative ways other member have done this from the custom levels found in the archive.
I don't know wassup with the handles, they always work for me. Sometimes you have back away or change you camera's perspective and then roll the curser over the handles and their lines until they highlight. Once highlighted, click your mouse and drag, then the object should move in the direction of the handle.
This is easier to do if you 'toggle' you camera, so you can 'fly' around in the level, rather than being stuck from your marble's default position. To change camera mode, select from CAMERA menu/ TOGGLE then use your movement keys to fly around.
Lastly, when you edit from the position field(or any field), your object doesn't disappear, it shifts position giving the effect of disappearing. Sometimes it'll be closeby, but out of range of the camera, so you don't see it. If you are in the free camera mode, you can back away and move to the left or right to find it. Sometimes you have to reselect it from the list to on your right so editor highlights it via a red and yellow outline. Red indicates the new position after applying field value, yellow is old. I think if you select the red outline you can drag the object horizontally and/or vertically tomove it where you want, but you can't move it up and down(unless there's a modifier key for this, but doesn't work on Apple).
One more thing, Michael's advice above will only work for Windows.
Aside, if you are interested The term 'terrain' is a little confusing. I too, thought that the terrain editor would add surfaces to the different objects (i.e., platforms) found in the levels, but I think terrain is actually the land, water etc., which would be in a game like Realm Wars(built by Torque) MarbleBlast doesn't use Terrain, but uses some the funky country-farmland thing that spins when you fall. Since marble just rolls around on all these 'interiors' in the sky, the creators of the game didn't find it necessary to build terrain.

Custom levels are built (as mentioned above) either by rearranging parts of the existing levels (these can be found in the interiors section of the mission editor creator (F4)), or by creating new interior objects in QuArK. See the "Quark4Torque" download and the MB version of Map2Dif at the bottom of the Custom Levels Archive page.

The terrain editor was left in largely by accident. We actually didn't expect custom level creation to become such a big thing when creating the game. We'll know better next time.Custom levels are built (as mentioned above) either by rearranging parts of the existing levels (these can be found in the interiors section of the mission editor creator (F4)), or by creating new interior objects in QuArK. Also, sometime you actually have to hover the mouse a little bit above the Z handle before it will light up. This can be somewhat confusing.

Some editors have a modifier key to overcome this obstacle(or burrow into the 'subobject.' Apparently, this one doesn't
Ifound that the key is to get close enough to the said object via free camera mode, to select it. Trouble is, sometimes you're right on top of the object making it hard to grab or select object or it's handles. What to do?
If anyone has better ideas for handling this problem. Pls. post.

@Alex, thanks so much for help and support here! Always grateful for it.

Ialso noticed that if there an object in the way of the object your trying to select(i.e., a large inbound or help trigger), you will have difficulty selecting said object. Some editors have a modifier key to overcome this obstacle(or burrow into the 'subobject.' Apparently, this one doesn't

Thanx guys, I think anygame with a built-in editor that doesnt require 50 honours degrees, 10 years experience in 3d graphics and 1000 hours spare time to create a level is worth my money :) So whats next Mr Swanson, gamewise.Does anyone play that Chain reaction game? the forum there is dead and the company's website is too, I'm a bit annoyed cos in the demo it says buy now for $14.99 and It cost me $19.99 when I actually clicked the link.

Although monster studios is no longer around, I will mention the price difference to folks here, as such inconsistency reflects poorly on GarageGames. Chain Reaction is a fun game, though. Sort of the culmination of the Incredible Machine series (same creators and concept).

@Janet: I'm under NDA on that sort of thing, I'm afraid :)Although monster studios is no longer around, I will mention the price difference to folks here, as such inconsistency reflects poorly on GarageGames. Just tug any of the object 'handles' to move it. Object handles are the lines with little square boxes at the end with x, y, and z inside. You'll probably want to tug the z axis to bring it up.
An alternative to this is selecting the object and going into the World Editor Inspector(not Creator) and set the position field. Again, x, y, and z in that order. Click 'Apply' after entering new values and 'Save' your work. This method is trial and error until you get use to the scale.
Terrain Editor isn't supported in this editor. MarbleBlast doesn't use terrain, so it's disable, but the creators left it in.
Hope this helps!
