I clicked the link but theres not much you can do without an invite or something (?)... seems like a strange concept tho. Or am i missing the point?

Orkut is an invited site - you have to get someone "inside" to invite you in. If you want, I can give you an invitation... I don't mean to be exclusionary. :)

Mostly, I was trawling for existing members who frequented the GG site, since I figured this would be interesting to them.

I think Orkut is Google's version of Friendster. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It is Google's version of Friendster. Arguably, Google did it, so it's cooler. Anyway, I'll send off invites to you two.
