TGE Stripped: Torque from Scratch

by Harold "LabRat" Brown · in Torque Game Engine · 02/05/2004 (10:52 am) · 3 replies

Well as I mentioned in my last .plan, I've been working on doing some tutorials on building something with Torque that doesn't rely on any of the example scripts.

The first part of this is now posted at my site

This is part one and goes from creating a simple Hello World to displaying the canvas. For part two I'm trying to decide if I want to do a simple text game in the winConsole or if I want to go ahead with the Gui and build up to having a "console box" and an input box to do a text game with.

If you want to go straight to the TGE Stripped you can find it here:

Hey, thanks for the tutorial! This is a great help for new people to Torque like myself. Keep 'em coming. Thanks. :-)

Can we put this in a news site in the Torque area so it doesn't get buried in the forums? If yes, I'll move it over there.

Let me know.

Go ahead Jeff.

Once I get into it a bit more I'll be making a docbook file of the tutorial and exporting to PDF and adding them to the Resource section of GG also.
