Hi mike,

we actually received some angel funding from a friend ...around 50K .... but not enough for the team to work fulltime....(read salaried :) ) positions... all of us have daytime jobs...and we work parttime on this project...

....We have enough money to cover the building of the demo....and PS2 Developer License Application plus something left over for travel and meetigns when we go to meet the publishers.... we are outsourcing the actual 3d modelling work to a third party studio... and our art team is doing only the levels in house.

may be the word Funded is too strong a word to use...but i could not think of another way of saying... "this is not a 13 year old's company or game project" :P

Lol stock. Don't you have to be a publically owned company to have stock? And a friend just gave you 50k. His ROI is going to be at least 5x that. I'll do the math 250,000. Anywhoo good luck with the game and don't say crap like

Quote:"this is not a 13 year old's company or game project" :P

Its just not necessary.

About as necessary as your response I would think.

By the way matthew what you mean by
Quote:

is Common Stock. As C-Corps can have different types of Stock.

We are a massahussets registered LLC and as far as my legal knowledge goes (IANAL :) )... LLCs can translate their holdings as "stocks" as the word simply means the legal equivalent of "a unit of ownership". i might be wrong on this one.... though...

as for the financing issue... i mentioned that the investor was an Angel investor... and you would not believe it .. he coughed up 50K just to keep a promise he made to me in a bar three years ago ..half-drunk....:) guys like him are very hard to find... so his expected ROI is 0x (ZERO). He even refused to hold a stake in the company as he felt that it is time for us to step out from his shadow :) (btw... the person in question was my boss in a ten person startup that we built and sold off in Feb 2000 and most of the team members do come from that startup).

Anyways thanks for the good wishes....and the "13 yr old" comment was in reference to a very old GarageGames post titled "what about these 13 year olds who put up job posts claiming that they are CEOs of companies" (or something like that).

We already have assembled a good team in terms of developers (people whose credits inlcude games like "Max Payne") and modellers, and we have a great board of advisors.... (with people who go way back to being sixth or seventh employee of a little company called Lotus :) ). We are looking for the last development asset ..... to complete the team and start the developement...
what we are offering is a holding in the company till at least we receive the publisher contract... or may be before that if we manage to scrounge up some VC funding....(which is VERY VERY unlikely)

and we have access to something that i believe not many indy gamers have access to A Playstation2 Dev Kit and Developer License.

btw, thanks for the comment badguy..
