Quicktime in TGE

by Virtual Campus · in General Discussion · 01/17/2004 (11:55 am) · 7 replies

Ok, I am on a team creating virtual tours of historic sites using TGE. We want top be able to stop at ramdom places and fade from the 3d site to a quicktim vr shot of present day to show the changes made. (Actually it doesn't have to be a quicktime vr shot, just anything to switch to, to show the changes. Quicktime vr shots are easily accessible thats why we want quicktime) Can anyone please give me an idea of how to do this in TGE? I don't know where to start.

Regardless,

I see no reason why, as long as you have the quicktime sdk, this should not be possible.
As long as you have the code, there shouldn't be a problem; Either make a new gui control, a SceneObject, or even do it all in-game.

Maybe you can have Quicktime render to a texture somehow, and render that texture on a flat 3D surface you render to the screen?

Like they said, only post a question ONCE in the CORRECT forums and this one is not it.

Oh sorry for spamming guys. I'm new to GG and this is my first post. I just thought telling more people would get a better response. It got a response alright, just not what I wanted. Anyway do any of you guys know of an easier way to go other than a quicktime? Like how would I make it to where I could pull up just a picture overlaying the background? Would this require just scripting or am I going to have to do some major work to the core? And where would the correct place be to post this? Like I said, first post.

Just post once; most people read all the dev forums, so you'll get picked up pretty much anywhere. If it's Torque specific (like this), do it in the Torque areas.

Hope your future posts are met with more success :)
