Here's a quick summary of the idea - if you want more information on it you can email me with questions and I'll answer as soon as possible. As above if you want to contribute ideas.

Okay, this is not Freedom Fighters - its not an action game as such and its not about shooting lots of people or following specific orders like a soldier does. It is set in a fictional Western world country which is rather small and similar to Australia in terms of culture - not all that many weapons around, a fairly harsh environment (at least away from the cities) and very multicultural.
The plot is as follows - another fictional nation, similar in nature to Indonesia, invades this country. In the beginning you're in control of one or two characters and have to work your way out of your suburb, which serves as a basic training mission and allows you to find some basic gear.
Control for characters is similar to Commandos, but simplified. Each person has an inventory and can equip items, each of which can be used for a different purpose - if its a gun you'll fire it (until you run out of ammo), if its a knife you might slit someone's throat and if its a rope it might be used for several purposes, depending on the situation.
Characters can fall into several classes and skills are built up in a similar fashion to Dungeon Siege - by practice rather than assigning points manually. Most people don't have a class to begin with.
Characters can build - traps, tents, etc, provided they have the right equipment. They can be assigned into teams (for operations, for setting up a camp, looting, whatever) and these teams can be assigned to an area (click and drag) - you could assign a team that had a decent level of trap-making skills to mine a road or whatever. You could set a team with some good searching skills to look through a few houses - they'll go through and collect whatever they find, bringing it all to a specificed location for you to sort out.
Vehicles are also included and are driven in a similar fashion to Commandos - one guy drives, the others pile in as passengers or gunners. More info can be found here: http://www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=14382

I'm a writer - thats it. If given a decent map editor I'd love to create all or at least part of the map, simply because I know how I'd like most of it to be set out. I need programmers, modellers, animators, sound guys - the works. I've figured out most of the stuff - weapons, how the AI should work, what the cities should be like, vehicles, missions and so forth - already.
