I play ThinkTanks from an external hard drive and I was always able to play after pluging the key number. But
the other day, it asks for it, so I put it in, but then it tells me it's been disabled. I play from and external hard drive because I have to use different machines but it was never a problem before.

We have a limit on the number of times an ignition key can be used to install - our family friendly fair use license is the most liberal I've encountered. In your case I'll take you at your word all your ingites have been for your own use - you'll find your key works again.
