I see much skin posting, I see some good, I see some bad. I think we could all benefit from a little collaboration/critiquing.

I'll start. I'm starting on this thing below, and i need a push.

Hey tally here are skins i told you about

server5.uploadit.org/files2/251203-Tank1.jpg server5.uploadit.org/files2/251203-Tank1.jpg
server5.uploadit.org/files2/251203-Tank2.jpg server5.uploadit.org/files2/251203-Tank2.jpg
server5.uploadit.org/files2/251203-Roadster.jpg server5.uploadit.org/files2/251203-Roadster.jpg

as for critique on your Orange screen skin, i think would be only that to me the tank wings (track cover) doesnt need the pattern on it. i say leave it grey all around. The uncleaness (looks like fresco) of the grey is already enough for it to stand by itself. Also you might want to add or give more of a definition to the area where the Turneket ( If you haven notice by now i cant spell) and the tank meet (its where all the turning of the barrell is and is connectedto the bottom half of the tank). Other than that i think the pattern is really catchy and the brain fits right in with the whole look.I especially like that you change the glass casing that houses the brain to a more white look instead of the default purple. Also the orange goes well with the track. Did you did that on purpose? And last thing can you tell me which file is the one that is the Purple Case Covering?

good work!

I think your going in the right direction Tally. I've only messed around with skinning a bit & I think the hardest thing is to give the tank a bit of texture & 3D effect- mostly around the edges where it should reflect more light & areas that can use shadow effect. I've tried using photoshop & made multiple layers over the original TT skin & used overlay to combine the two to change colors, but that's about as far as I've gotten. Just experimenting right now.

Gorrilla's skins are okay, but lack any definition or character. They look kinda flat because of no highlight/shadow detail. They're just painted straight on the template. Don't really have any suggestions at this point on how to go about improving this other than looking at the detail of other skins (esp. Tanky's & FP's) & look at the details. Then figure out ways of creating those effects in your graphics app of choice.

Hopefully I'll get a little farther soon & may have some suggestions as I don't even have anything worthy of posting at this time.

You got to like Gorilla's banana in his tank #2 lmao! Very cool. The sticker is very funny. The Flaming tank is good but I think the black background is too much - re. the front and back view lacks character. Your first tank looks like a plastic toy, re. no texture in your color.

Tally I like the red skin. The other is kinda untanky. A tank is supposed to be a tool of havoc and destruction, Kali's own left hand rejoicing amid pixelized death, not like a table cloth. Your tanks are also too 'clean', like fresh from the factory or on display at the car dealership. Try bullets holes and scratches, with textured colors with pixelisation and noise filters in PS. For example your japanese tanks are more 'war-like'. I like them. Did you used the watercolor filter?

I also like very much when small decal-like images/logos are used (re. gorilla's banana decal). It adds depth and personality to a tank. I know tankster uses licence plate with names - funny. His tanks are well done for the amount of details in them - small things. A bit like models, you know with glue and etc, remember at the very end, you finally put all the little decals, and they add so much to a model's personality.

Skinners, try to do a skin in honor of TankGirl. google 'Tank Girl' and you'll get lots of material. She's worth it.

@Tally what do you use to upload files on the net? Seems Uploadit.org does not work all the time, my link is broken or was taken down, i don't know which one.

@Everyone thanks for the critique! I do agree i need more texture and depth to my tanks, like adding rust marks, damage area, or wear and tear to my tank. I believe the reasons i dont have this on my tanks is that i have no idea on how to add this and make it look good. The important part is "looking good" dont want the "depth" to look half/@$$ (excuse the language). If someone can show me a site where this is done i will gladly add some of these artifacts to my tanks.

@to people that can not see my tank..sorry read the question to tally to know why.
