Flyable Ufos.. Finally

Well, I have finally implemented "flyable" UFOS. Had some great dogfights, and here are some pictures to prove the fun:

OMG im in a screenshot *faints.... he he he i still dont quite get the steering system O_o

Not a bad idea!

You should let people be normal tanks if they want. They could act as anti-air guns! Since they can't fly they should have an advantage like better guns.

You should make one of the powerups have 0 velocity (speed if you don't know) so when a ufo gets one it can drop it on unsuspecting anti-air tanks below!

How about we implement the WW2 air raid siren in place of the music. It would create a good atmosphere!

Hey! I found it out too! Boy, that's some easy programming!
Except you can't use the escape key to quit, so you need to quit the entire program. Wonder what's up with this?

Im going to sing that R-Kelly song "I believe i can't fly" since Nathan hasnt configured the controls. But who cares right? Most of the pilots today dont need navigating. Let the plane fly itself. I like the mod Nathan.

Nate you should fix (or at least attempt to fix) the Esc key bug. Having to quit the entire program will just get tiresome and make people avoid your server.

Ok. I am working hard to get something to make an acceptable steering system. (Altitude controls, currently there are none)
But here is how you can currently go up and down.

1.TAKING OFF
-When you hit a large enough hill, you will take off. If you fly up at a 45 degree angle, you will continue travelling up at that angle untill you hit your flight limit.

2.LANDING
-While flying upward, turn 180 degrees. You will begin coming down at the opposite angle you took off with.

3.LEVEL FLYING
-Instead of turning 180 degrees for landing, turn 90 degrees. You will fly at a level altitude.

4.AIMING/DOGFIGHTING
-A 180 degree turret is implemented, for side to back shooting, and top to bottom shooting.

5.TRICKS
-Hit a boost pad or the volcano to quickly climb straight upwards.
-Drive over the fog area to quickly fall down. This works because the maximum flying hieght is determened by the terrain hight.


I should have this up as a Christmas present for all of you people. Enjoy!
