Are the rankings supposed to go up today? When? does the time difference make t tommorow for the USA?

Yes, on Planet Think Tanks sign up for a account, and -z- will have a Stat logging section on the profile page.it won't be too long intil he gets it on there.

-z- and I have been haggling out various formulas for ranking peopel based on the stats collected in game. A lot of progress has been made and currently -z- is in the process of converting the data from over 7000 games played. That's a lot of stats! and it does take some time. Sit tight though, I think you will all be very pleased with the results ;)

Will the rankings ultimately be live updated, or will it be periodically calculated?
Interesting stuff. I can't wait to see what it's going to work like.

The stats will be live updated, so after each game you will be able to log into PTT, see your stats and your new ranking if it changed.
Once the stat system is up and runing, new PTT members will automaticaly have their stats recorded and be ranked on the PTT site.

Right now, the only server that was recording stats was the CTF Server. So the rankings that go live on PTT, will be for CTF only - and only for those players who have accounts on PlanetThinkTanks (roughly 100 players).The stats will be live updated, so after each game you will be able to log into PTT, see your stats and your new ranking if it changed.
Once the stat system is up and runing, new PTT members will automaticaly have their stats recorded and be ranked on the PTT site.

Yeah, but when (aprox.) do the CTF stats go up? and the braincam ones go up too, right?

If you do not want to be ranked, do not sign up and create a profile on the PTT site, none of your individual stats will be recorded and you won't be in any ranking ladder.

Just to give you some idea, there are approx 8000 games to sort through and have the computer work complicated formulae on.
From those 8000 games, there are some 30,000 rows of player stats which need to be added, and used in calculations.
In fact.. there were almost 3 times that number, but only 30,000 that applied to registered site members.
Hopefully, the computer should have finished analysing them later on. In the mean time however, a few small stats from those entered:
Player to have died/killed themself the most times in a single game:
Tied between LC50 and (sxy) kimmy on 28 deaths. (in fairness, in the two games in question, LC50 killed 28 enemy tanks, and kimmy killed 18)
Most kills in a game?
The record here undoubtedly goes to TimboBomber with 37 enemy kills in one game, 36 in two games, and 35 in another 3 games.
I managed 36 in one game, but next down the list is MOE with 34.
Most games played?
DIE with a grand total of 1360
followed by Tink on 994 and (sxy) kimmy on 843
(well, in fact the bots are all top of this stat, but I'm ignoring them as actual players for this stat)
Who picks up the most powerups? (on average)
GoD scores highest here with an average of 6.9 per game
PEST comes in second with 5.1
followed by Devastator on 4.7
Who (on average) has the most team-kills per game?
Congrat Horus© with an average of 2
followed by Da bomb with 1.89, GoD with 1.88, Devastator 1.81 and Nathan with 1.54
Who (on average) has the greatest possession of the flag?
MajorPain (for on average 18.8% of the game)
Ge0rge (avg of 18% of the game)
MOE (16.7%)
SteAlth (15.6%)
Griswald (15.1%)
Who has scored the most goals in a game?
Guess what, it's a bot! Julius Caesar [Bot] hold this record with a grand total of 35
Closely followed by DIE and MOE both tied on 34
and Strawberry Blonde, Triv and Griswald all tied on 32
Who kills the most enemy flag carriers?
The bots have this one too..
Julius Caesar [Bot] and Hannibal [Bot] are both tied with a max of 15 enemy flag bearer kills in one game.
I (-z-) come in second with a max of 14, closely followed by Attila the Hum [Bot] on 13.
Alaric the Goth [Bot], Cadc, (sxy) kimmy, Lancer, DIE, Genghis Khan [Bot] and Ge0rge all come in next with maximums of 12.
Anyway.. the stats will all be up soon. There is much still to be calculated.

Also.. just to let you lot know, currently the servers are not logging stats. They will not be logging stats again until the current batch (the last 2 and a half months worth) have been processed. At which point, the stats that are recorded by the games will be instantly processed and not stored up in a large file like they have been so far.
Only the stats (from the last two and a half months) that are relevant to existing PTT members are being added. The rest are being scrapped.
The current stats do not include things like 'steals' 'cliff dives' 'passes' and so on, but the new system will be recording all that extra information.

Man and to think yesterday i tryed it and got 40 some odd kills and they don't count oh well it only took 15 mintues i'll just wait,great job so far with the scores z

Uhh, -Z-?! I don't want to say this after it all, but I have a problem. these stats all refer to the MOSt of stuff. I can't play that often, but when I do...I get in the 30's or 40's every game, allways placing first. How about Q's that refer to people with time constraints and school, ie. Placed first most amount of games he played, placed secxond for the same, stuff like that? I know I should be up there as I am always winning the games. right?

Filbert, the stat's shown are more for entertainment then anything else. The actual ranking system is much more complex and deals with your performance over multiple games, not just a best score in a single game.
