Anyone point me at a tutorial on using GIMP to do Tribes2 or v12 skins?

they claim its free, and for the price it aint half bad ;)
now If I could only get something like a deep paint replacement, I would be rocking (although I might just buy that and save the hassel)

gimp is basicaly a photoshop alike, or replacement on how you look at it. they claim its free, and for the price it aint half bad ;)

It took a bit of adjustment, and Im no art expert, lol.
but for a free program its not that bad.

You might not be an art expert, but as an artist I'd have to say that that's pretty damn good(pardon the language). I might have to download GIMP myself(I put it off cause I didn't know what to do or if it would be worth it. Now I see that it is definitely worth downloading:D.--Clayton Weaver

Everytime I open a skin, it's all greyed out (transparency of some sort) and I can't access the "real" coloured bits :)

what format are they in?
assuming you can open em in gimp, did you check the layers settings?
