Milkshape and Vehicles -- Possible?

(Note: I think this is the right forum, but someone correct if I'm wrong so that I'll know where to post next time :-) )
I've read a little on vehicles, and I was wondering: Is it possible to create dummies or mounting points in Milkshape? If so, please tell me, but if not, are there any free programs to do this? (I know 3ds Max works, but that's way over my budget)
thanks!

Aw, Max is great, it's the port to the engine that gets the fighting started...:( I personally like the UI of Max...and it's workflow.

Max is really cool, that I agree...the only thing I don't like about it is its price >.< I'm just a high school student, so 3.5k doesn't come by very easily =D But yeah, I really wish I had it...
