Vote YES for Brutal!!!

by Peter Ryan aka TorQue[MoD] · in General Discussion · 11/09/2003 (4:56 pm) · 9 replies

We're looking to find an investor to help fund Brutal's production so we've put together a quick poll to gather Sales Projection information for the business proposal.

To cast your vote, visit the Brutal website!

Please vote honestly as this will effect our chances of securing funding for Brutal.

Feel free to spread the word and get your friends, family and pet goat to vote too!

You tell us to vote yes, then say to vote honestly? Ohhh, my aching head. :-P

Well hey, if you really don't think its a game you'd buy then we don't want to be presenting possible investors with biased sales projections. But I'd much prefer if everyone voted yes and meant it!

Brutal has the potential to be a very cool and original title.

I can't possibly vote yes for this- there is minimal information available... which isn't informational at all if you ask me. And the NEWS and INFO pages carry contradictory information. You'd think those two pages could at least be syncronised, considering there are only 3 pages on the entire site.

This poll isn't going to provide accurate sales projections. And it certainly isn't going to sway investors with this highly unscientific and undocumented method.

No, it won't you're right. But at least its better than nothing. Its just part of the proposal.

The point, as I said on the news page, was to speculate that IF we complete the game with the listed features, do you think you would find it enjoyable. It does require a bit of imagination, but I'm also uploading some new media content right now and we'll have a promo video out soon. I also updated the Info page to match the news page.

I had voted 'no' both for the same reasons as Randall, and that fighting games just isn't my genre.

I know you've got some mods under your belt, Peter, so that's a plus. However, I've just seen too many --and been a part of a few -- projects that were great in idea, and some even got off to a good start... only to end up vaporware.

My suggestion would be to forget financing at the moment and get a working level with two or three characters and showcasing other features (physic, breakable items). At that point you might have better success with both the poll and financing -- or you might decide you don't need either and continue on without. :-)

Either way, good luck!

@ Eric - Yeah we're working on an Alpha demo too. This poll is gona be up for a month or so in order to get any sort of realistic numbers. We'll have the Alpha demo ready by Christmas I think.

@ Badguy - Pop ups? Must be another application you're running in the background cause there's no advertising on our site what so ever.

Thanks for voting honestly guys!

@Peter: the poll service you are using pops an ad.

Ahh. It doesn't pop up any ads for me. Probably cause I'm using Netscape.
