A 3D Moddeling & Torque Question

by Nathan · in Torque Game Engine · 11/07/2003 (11:19 pm) · 3 replies

FYI: I am asking this for a friend who's computer is broken right now.

I've been doing 3D moddelling for quite some time now, and have just got a friend into it. I even got him to buy torque :P.
Anyway, because he is new, I advised him to download the free GMax software.
He has made some really neat creations, and was wondering: Can he use .GMAX files in torque? (Or convert to a file torque understands) I couldn't find an answer, so I've asked it here.
Hope you can help him out.

You cant. Thats why GMAX is free. You _could_ export it as a md3, then import it into milkshape, or convert it to a 3ds. But im pretty sure thats not allowed under the license.

He has the free trial of 3Ds Max, but doesn't really want to pay for it. (He's just starting out remember)
Is there any way to save 3ds files with gmax?

No this is not possible without having gMax Dev.
