Ok, you might think this is funny..
but it is.
Ok, I need to Patent the Software Button.
Im gonna need about 20k to get it done.
see with M$ grabbing up All the ip they can find.
I need to patent the software button to protect my future interests.
What if in 5 years I need to put a button in an application,
and microsoft has patented it?
Seriously tho.. Who will rally with me?
We need to collect about 20,000 to get it done.
I just heard M$ has managed to patent the fact that thier messenger tells the user when the other user is typing a message.
Yuck...
thier's is not the first software to do it.
but it is.

Have you talked to a patient lawyer? I am sure he or she would be more than happy to take you money, but a button is not patientable.
1 - prior art exists.
2 - a button is obvious "to one of ordinary skill"
Both of these accounts make it unpatentable.
Now there are some issues with patient people not knowing of prior art, but in this day an age I think everyone has seen a SW button.
Legal Disclaimer....
-- I am not a patient lawyer. I don't even play one on TV. Search Patient sites or talk to a real lawyer. Also I am only speaking to US Patients. Not sure what other countries do.

yea well the us will patent anything for billy..
I dont think you get the jest of it all.
explain how they are the first of all thier patents.
Specifically this one mentioned here.
it has been done before in other software.
did they somehow prove thier msn had it before them?
ordinary skill can also explain thier system of detecting user input for window chat's..
seems pretty trivial to me.
Patent's make me sick.
M$ makes me sick buying up all the ip.
you give me the 20k to get this done.
and I wont add ya to the make me sick list.

In fact I think we should follow the e-Patent idea to its logical end: to assemble all the peoples of the world and have them pass in front of an image of Bill Gates. All those who do not bow down and worship the image will be put to death.

I, for one, am all for e-Patents. They just make sense. In fact I think we should follow the e-Patent idea to its logical end: to assemble all the peoples of the world and have them pass in front of an image of Bill Gates. All those who do not bow down and worship the image will be put to death.

BTW, I won't be liable for bad or buggy sex, either. It'll be in the TOS. ;-)

I'm fairly certain that falls under 'buggy sex', and not only did Eric remove all liability with the ToS, he had buggy sex declared illegal from all the money he made on the patent! ;-)

Dinner - 60 dollars
Movie - 20 dollars
Having the exclusive patent on good sex - Priceless.
For everyone else, clinton sex will have to do.
