Hi guys,
Once Rick O. gets back I am going to see if we can set up a central download archive of custom levels and marble graphics, along with some other map making resources. This should solve all those dead link problems that everyone has been having.
Anyone who has any custom levels, please email them to me alex_swanson@garagegames.com - make sure to include the name you want lested as the levels author in the email.
Thanks much guys, good to see so many people enjoying MB -

Then you can start making your levels again! I've just started making mine with QuArK, but I'm still not sure how to export into .dif format. See the "Level competition" post!

If you have Desmond Fletcher's Quark4Torque installed, you will need to compy MarbleBlastMap2Dif into the same directory as Map2Dif (I think this is in /torque/tmpQuark.
Then you need to go into the Quark Prefs and, under the Torque category, change all the references to Map2Dif.exe to MarbleBlastMap2Dif.exe. Once you have done that, just choose "Build high detail dif" from the Torque menu when your map is open. It should create the .map and .dif files in the /torque/tmpQuark/maps directory.
Move the .dif file into the interiors folder of your MB install (you don't need the .map file once exporting is completed), then you can either load the file into a new map, or run marble blast from the command line:

MarbleBlast.exe -test your_level_here.difThis will create any entities (startpad, endpad, items, moving platforms) that you had defined in your map. These objects will not be created if you simply copy your files directly into the editor.

Alex,
How often do these "major" site update roll around?
Who will rate the levels? Will it be your staff or our peers? Or, maybe a combination of both. The rating system will add a nice touch to the archive and encourage us to make really spiffy levels.
Commentary would be great too, so the L.B.(Level Builder) gets feedback and the players can compare notes on levels.
Let's take it up a notch!

... eventually we hope to have user ratings and commentary, but that will probably have to wait until the next major site update.

BTW, I tried your QuArK levels. Bob was kind enough to send them to me over the weekend(the links on the archive are dead).
It looks like your start in QuArK is inspired and should lead to some prettty interesting levels. So far, only yourself and Jayar are building on QuArK, but it look like others are interested(myself included).
I'm having a little trouble super jumping to the top of the tree, but I'm sure I'll make it sooner or later. Green Brick Road was fairly easy, but the space terrain was a challenge. I liked the tunnels because they reminded me of the fun house.

So far level archive updates have been about once per month. Sorry that the level building contest is taking so long to come about - we havn't forgotten about it! It just takes a while to get all this orchestrated, considering how much is going on around here these days.

When I said ratings, I meant ratings by users. We'll be getting another person here to work on some of the community web stuff after the holiday season, so look for some big changes then!So far level archive updates have been about once per month. Once i get a new motherboard i will be able to transfer all my hardware over and i'll be back to using my athlon 1.4, although the new mobo will be able to support up to Athlon 3000 XP i think...which will be the Abit NF7-M with on-board AGP 8x graphics. It's only a hundred bucks or so...but seein's how i'm behind on rent, i gotta fix that first.
