Demos in a heavy?

I have seen now four demos in either a heavy or light. I just wanted to know if this could be the result of free keys from CMX or other "generous" owners. (DEMO) Dietrich was in a heavy today, there was a demo yesterday in a light, and I've seen others. Has anyone else experienced this? Plus, a demo asks me if its legal to get the key from an owner, Obviously there's a little problem here.

I agree with racer. It could just be people going around with demo in front of their name.

Version 1.1, which I believe is the only version available for download or purchase now, doesn't let players put demo in front of their name.Ben(SA)

Another weird demo related item. A demo named ally aka b goes around in game switching tanks, first heavy, back to medium, heavy again,then light. How come?Ben(SA)

LIke the others, I've always assumed someone in a light with "DEMO" in front of their name is just trying to blend in. If there is something more nefarious going on (like hacking of the demo program), I don't know.

There are a one or a couple servers running that are modded to allow someone to say "light please" or whatever and get the tank they ask for. Dunno if it allows demos to do the same thing.LIke the others, I've always assumed someone in a light with "DEMO" in front of their name is just trying to blend in. If there is something more nefarious going on (like hacking of the demo program), I don't know.

I've seen a few folks a while back that enjoyed faking their demo status just for the "A Demo in a Light tank?? Whaa!?!" reaction.
Also: "(DEMO) Dietrich" is the wrong format. A real demo name would be: "DEMO (Dietrich)"

If you want to know if they are really Demos, watch and see if they get kicked off every few minutes.... If they last the whole game they probably aren't demos...I've seen a few folks a while back that enjoyed faking their demo status just for the "A Demo in a Light tank?? Whaa!?!" reaction.

I am under the impression that the latest revision prohibits players from putting (DEMO) in front of their name.slugthog the read me reader

I some times us a heavy and im not a demo look at the name closer and u will see DEMOkiller.........u know i kill demos DEMO+killerDEMOkiller34

I got my demo version from shockwave and was able to use light or heavy...
