Leap motion controlled with feat

by Ivana · in Torque 3D Beginner · 10/18/2013 (12:37 pm) · 2 replies

hi, guys,
I would really really appreciate some advice and opinions on the following:
Do you think it would be possible/advisable/achievable to make the leap motion gadget controlled by the players feet instead of hands?
The thing is, we're trying to do this offline promotion and have a game tied in with soccer, so playing with hands would be considered a 'foul' while playing "with" feet might be fun and unexpected.
What do you suggest? Any examples or experiences with this?

@Ivana - Do you have a device already? It should be easy to test.

Hm...that's interesting. Though it seems like something I would have tried, I have not used my feet with the Leap Motion yet. First thing tomorrow morning I'm going to give it a shot. The Leap Motion device is super accurate and responsive, which leads me to believe it is highly tuned to recognize palm and fingers. I don't know if the foot and toes are close enough in shape to get registered. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I know an Xbox Kinect would handle it just fine, though. I've done that already.

@hi, Michaeal,
Yes, I do have the device, and it's been working fine with the hand as a control device.
We're thinking of doing this live activation campaign and it sounds cool in theory to have the people control the ball with their feet (in the shoes, of course), but I don't know how it can be possible.
If you have a solution, and are willing to work on this, please send me a IM, so I can contact you.
