I think you should make a game that generates random quotes. that'd be fun for at least me

Do you mean quotes like "All your bases are belong to us."?

Forum 2000 had the Cube do that, though Forum 2000 wasn't a game.

You asked it questions and the people who had the site would reply. But the Cube was just a random thing.

Forum 2000 is gone now though.

You might want to look at http://conversatron.com/ . It's like Forum 2000. It doesn't have the Cube, but you might still be entertained by it.

As in HyperParrot? Not that anyone has hypercard to run it anymore. That thing was so cool :)

No no no no (even though I don't know what hyper parrot is)!
I just want something that can make quotes like FUNNY quotes (read: All your bases belong to us isn't funny) like:

DEMO : can i join the AU?
Not DEMO : no
DEMO : can i join NOW?

I made something like that already. Go to http://botasylum.tripod.com . It's not really a game, but it sounds like what you're talking about. In theory, it can respond to the things you say. In reality, it would be a whole lot of work to get it to make ANY sense.

Warning: BotAsylum doesn't work for everyone.

Warning: I haven't checked the log or posted any of the conversations for a long time. They do NOT get posted automatically.

Warning: BotAsylum is NOT funny.

Warning: BotAsylum is NOT good in any way.

If you do a search on google.com for chatbots or chatterbots, I'm sure you can find something better.

If you are really serious about this, I would be willing to write a better (well, marginally better) Bot Asylum program when I get some free time - which won't be for a while. However, I will NEVER have the time to make the content, and I will NEVER have the time to check the log and upload the recent conversations. So if you're willing to do that part, I'm willing to do the programming when things are a little less hectic for me.

Or maybe this just has nothing to do with what you're talking about.

Ya know, that actually might not be that hard to do - if you're online. Just somehow get Google to do a search of something, and pick out a phrase from there.

Your best bet would probably be to go with a large pre-generated list, for any practical purposes. Perhaps have a way for users to add to this list, too.
